Terms of Service
Version 2.0 · Last updated: 23 September 2026
The short version. Kindred gives your family ideas and information — you stay the parent. Be 18+, keep your account safe, share honestly, and treat other families with care. You own what you share; you give us a licence to show it in Kindred and, where no one can be identified, in our marketing. Swedish law applies, and nothing here takes away your consumer rights.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
These terms are an agreement between you and Synova Technology AB (org. nr 559403-0552), Björkrisvägen 16, 167 66 Bromma, Sweden ("Kindred", "we", "us"). They cover all Kindred products — Kindred Explore, Kindred at Home, and the website at heykindred.app — used with one Kindred account. By creating an account or using a Kindred product, you agree to these terms.
2. The service
Kindred helps families find venues, activities, events, and ideas, drawing on curated content, community contributions, third-party data, and AI-generated suggestions. Everything in Kindred is inspiration and information — we are not a childcare provider, an educational institution, or a medical or safety advisory service, and nothing in Kindred replaces your judgment as a parent or caregiver.
3. Your account
You must be at least 18 to create an account. Keep your registration information accurate and your credentials secure — you are responsible for activity under your account. One person, one account.
4. Parental responsibility
You are solely responsible for the safety and wellbeing of your children. Before visiting a venue or starting an activity:
- Judge whether it suits your child's age, abilities, and temperament
- Check that the environment is safe, including allergens, choking hazards, and other risks specific to your family
- Supervise appropriately, and change or stop anything that feels unsafe
Age ranges, difficulty levels, and amenity information in Kindred are general guidance, never safety certifications.
5. Venue information (Kindred Explore)
Venue details come from third-party datasets (including Foursquare Open Source Places and Mapbox) and from the community. They can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong — opening hours change, playgrounds close, cafés move. Verify before you travel.
We do not inspect venues or check that they are safe. Venues appear in Kindred because they are in our data sources or were added by parents, and we order them by how well they match your search, your location, your children's age ranges, and what other parents have shared. Venues can pay to be featured; paid placements are always labelled. When Kindred suggests or highlights a venue, that reflects community experiences and our matching — never a safety check.
6. AI-generated content
Some content in Kindred — activity suggestions and the chat assistant — is generated by artificial intelligence and is labelled as such. We apply safety screening, but AI can produce unexpected or imperfect results. When you use the assistant, you are talking to an AI, not a person. Apply the same parental judgment to AI content as to anything else.
7. Community content
Reviews, tips, photos, and activities shared by other parents are their experiences, not our statements. We screen contributions with automated checks and moderation, but we do not independently verify or test every contribution. Reviews can only be posted from a signed-in Kindred account, and we remove reviews we find to be fake or planted (see section 9) — but we cannot confirm that every reviewer actually visited the venue.
8. Your content
You own the content you share. So Kindred can work, you grant us:
An operating licence. A non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, resize, moderate, and distribute your content within Kindred products. This licence ends when you delete content or your account, except for: venue information (such as opening hours, amenities, accessibility, and venue photos with no people in them), which remains in Kindred; and reviews, tips, and activities, which remain only after we have removed the link to you and stripped personal details. For these contributions the licence continues after deletion. See the Privacy Policy for details.
A marketing licence for marketing-safe content. We may feature community content about venues and activities in our own marketing (including automatically generated ads) only where it is marketing-safe: photos in which no one is identifiable — including after we have blurred faces and removed identifying details, checked by a person before use — and review text quoted without identifying you (at most a first name, or "a Kindred parent"). You can opt out of marketing use of your content in settings at any time.
Anything identifiable needs your separate opt-in. Content showing identifiable people — and categorically any photo showing a child, even with their face blurred — or crediting you fully is used in marketing only if you give a separate, recorded opt-in when you share it. Swedish law (lagen om namn och bild i reklam) requires this consent, and we would want it anyway.
When you share content, you confirm it reflects your genuine experience and that you have the right to share it — photos including other people's children need their parent's consent.
9. Reviews
Reviews must describe your honest personal experience. Genuine criticism is welcome; fabricated reviews, paid reviews, and false factual claims about a venue are not. Venue owners and their competitors may not review their own or rival venues.
10. Reporting, moderation, and removals
Anyone can report content in the apps. We review reports, remove content that breaks these terms or our Community Guidelines, and tell the affected user what was removed and why. Content receiving multiple reports may be hidden automatically pending review. If you think we got it wrong, reply to the notice and we will take a second look.
11. Acceptable use
Do not use Kindred to post unlawful content, harass or impersonate anyone, share other people's personal information, send spam, scrape or bulk-extract data, or interfere with the service's operation.
12. Our intellectual property
Kindred's software, design, branding, and curated content belong to Synova Technology AB or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the apps for your family's own, non-commercial use.
13. Availability and changes to the service
Kindred is under active development: features may change, be added, or be retired. We will give reasonable notice of material changes. We aim for high availability but the service is provided without uptime commitments.
14. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from reliance on venue information, community content, or AI-generated suggestions, or from interactions between users. Nothing in these terms limits your mandatory rights under Swedish consumer law, or our liability for intent or gross negligence.
15. Termination
You can stop using Kindred and delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms — proportionately, and with an explanation.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we will notify you in the apps or by email in advance. If you continue using Kindred after a change takes effect, the new terms apply; if you disagree, you can delete your account.
17. Governing law and disputes
Swedish law governs these terms. Disputes are resolved by the Swedish courts. If you live in another EU country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country and can also bring a claim in your local courts. As a consumer you can also turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes — Allmänna reklamationsnämnden (ARN), Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm.
